BBQ around the world can be found in different sizes and shapes. At Tangram Garden we focus on the charcoal kind. In Cambodia, many people grill their meet or corn on small ceramic pots, filled with charcoal and on top a small iron rack where the meat or corn is placed. Most of these pots are coming from the province of Kampong Chhnang. Chhnang means pottery.
This traditional style of BBQ can still be seen all around the country, in poor or rich households, everybody uses the same technique. Other forms of Khmer BBQ are the Phnom Pleung, meaning fire mountain, and the now very popular roasted beef.
